Bloodeh day

If I had known that telling my Dad that I was dizzy at work would make me end up having to get in line to have a blood test at 9am, I would not have said anything. But yeah, I said it alright and even (stupidly) added that I've been getting headaches too. Now, that landed me an appointment with another doctor to discuss that. Luckily, there weren't that too many people so I didn't have to wait very long. I hate having these blood tests. I hate needles. The last time I had to do this, I asked the nurse if I could lie down instead because I was afraid I might do a Linda Blair and hurl bile (that's what you get if you're told to fast for 12 hours!) at the sight of the syringe and blood. I asked the nurse how many people she punctures everyday. "I'm not sure. I really don't count," she said. "They come in, sit down, I tie the arm, flick the vein, stick the needle in, and extract. They sit here for 5 minutes, then leave." It seemed like the most personal yet impersonal job in the world. So hungry I could have eaten a wombat, I dashed to Floating Island which is now much smaller than the original. They should have renamed it Floating Islet instead. It no longer had that cafeteria feel to it, what with the fancy coffee machine and bags of Lavazza brew on the shelves and all. After making up for the nutrients I lost in the last 12 hours, I went ahead and did the piss test. You know, someone really should provide bigger jars for it. It's such a messy ordeal having to target your piss in one small opening. I'm supposed to know the findings tomorrow after lunch when I go see my doctor. I hope it does not have anything to do with my cholesterol levels going off the charts again.

I heart Katy

Anyone who knows me really well knows that I love a good ballad, especially if its sung by a woman. Although there are a few tunes sung by men that are pretty good too. I heard this song while listening to 103.5 over the net. I totally dig it. And no, it has never happened. I'm not the type.

Oh Bama

While almost the whole world was busy trying to be part of history, I slept. So now, I'm left to watch edited stuff on the web - which is even better because I don't have to sit through the boring parts like the long speeches and stuff. I get to see choice scenes! I really don't see what the big deal is. Yeah, he's black. and has a giant for a wife. who kind of resembled Princess Fiona during the oath taking minus the red hair and freckles. and he's the first black president. I wonder if it would have been any different if Hillary won. I wonder how she feels now. She must be sticking pins and needles in her lil Obama doll right now. Anyway, I think Beyonce should have sung something else. At Last sounds so.. blah. That must have been the longest 2 minute dance ever for the couple. That all they could do after the awkward turning and stepping on each other's feet was to stop and clap and laugh. Beyonce looked like she didn't want to get off the stage. She also looked as if she was going to cry - from sheer annoyance that they were getting all the attention and not her.

Ice, ice baby

I was in the middle of conditioning my hair last Saturday when I suddenly had the urge to ice skate. Ever since I watched 1992's Cutting Edge (when Moira Kelly was in the peak of her hawtness), I have always wanted to try it. I never really got around to doing it before because it was either I hardly went to an SM that had a skating rink or I didn't know anybody who could or wanted to. Sixteen years later, I find myself in Mall of Asia lacing myself up in the grossest pair of ice skates . Some of the hooks were gone, the laces were wet in some parts, and the length wasn't the same on each boot. At first, I was a bit scared to let go of the side which I clung onto with my dear life but I managed to eventually peel myself off and skate away from it.

Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Skating wound and wound!
There were so many kids and Olympic skater wannabees. I wanted to bump them all.
Let it snow... soap suds!!
This bee-atch almost hit me. I wanted to trip her.
So there. It was fun. Really fun.

Dying for dessert

This morning, I decided to go on recession mode (for the nth time). The universe gladly cooperated by making me forget to bring my wallet to work. But then again, I'm really forgetful so I don't think now that the universe had anything to do with it. And just when I'm on recession mode, I suddenly have this wild craving for dessert. Not just any dessert. Canolli! i first saw this log of heaven in Godfather 3, when the goddaughter fed it to her godfather before he died. I think. Then I had it for the first time in Detroit when my tita bought a box full at their local Italian grocery. I must have eaten one or two. Does anyone know where I can get good canolli here in the third world? Then I also want Yulo Strawberry Shortcake.. .. and Cuerva Mango Torte.

Gracey

Methinks Grace Jones uses Veet (new improved formula!) before she werks the stage, which is good because a frequent waxer said that with Veet, smoothness lasts for up to 4 weeks. So she can go on and on and on wearing that almost-revealing uhm, thing and not worry about unsightly stray strands poking out of her fishnets. Maybe that's what the big tulip on her head is for. A diversion. Her thighs look a bit lumpy though so I think she should get exercise tips from (or workout with) Madge/ Vadge.
