Jessica Zafra, in her book, Chicken Pox for the Soul, said that "I think it is rude of people who are not in agriculture to get up early; they are only being virtuous in order to mock the rest of us."
And mock they did when my brother and I rolled out of the house at 7:30 am - our first to drive to work from the house in yeeeaaaaarrrrsssss.
Already, Filinvest was bumper to bumper and looked like a remake of the 7-hour evening traffic jam of long ago. Luckily, my Dad who left much earlier than we did was able to spy that the service road was free as a bird. We took that route and ended up in Makati an hour and a half after.
In my former CBD life, I'd get up at 7, walk like a zombie to the kitchen to prepare a glass of iced tea that I always never finish (I need something sweet in the morning), eat a bit of breakfast while watching Shaun the Sheep and the morning news, tell my brother to hurry up in the bathroom, get ready, and walk to work.
Now, I'm beginning to wonder what time I should leave tomorrow so I could be in Makati before 9am without having to force my eyes to open in the morning.
Luckily, traffic wasn't so bad on the way home. Or maybe because I was driving like a madman on ecstacy.
The only traffic I experienced was along Herrera, going towards Pasong Tamo.
And when the stupid attendant at the Skyway toll was giving change to this bus that was on the E-Pass Only/ Absolutely No Change lane.
