Finally

Guess what was FINALLY delivered today. No, it's not the SLK I've always wanted. Or the Louis Vuitton Graphite Tadao tote. With the amount of time and irritation that I experienced just to get this, it should be made out of read Gold. After countless phone calls, purposely sarcastic written emails to Smart, forms filled out, and financial documents submitted (despite them advertising that it isn't needed), I finally got my Smart Sim this morning. Just the other day, I was thinking of sending them a really nasty email (my third) to tell them about their not-so-amazing customer service. I guess the Account Manager has spider senses, being the bugs that they are for ticking me off, and hurried up the process. At least they waived the P700 that I was initially told to pay on top of the one month advance. The sim will be activated in 24 to 48 hours so if you're a media contact, please save the new number and trash the other one.

Getting Smart

The quest to apply for a Smart line continues and it's starting to tick me off. Last week, someone from Smart came to the office to bring the application form and to get my bank statement and photocopy of my ID. He said that was all I needed to submit and that he'll email me the plans later on. When I asked him about the plans, he told me to just go to the Smart site. He never emailed the plans like he said he would. Last Monday, another guy from the Smart business center rang me up, said my application was turned over to them, and requested for even more documents (COE, ITR, another bank statement). I started to think that Smart Guy #1 must have dumped my application to them because I was not getting an Infinity plan. "I'll call you again, sir, to ask when I can have the documents picked up," he said. Just as expected, he never called. So i figured it might be better if I applied at the Smart Wireless Center in Alabang. With all my documents on hand, I was later asked by the sales person that he needed 6 months worth of bank statements. This was annoying to hear, especially after seeing this sign inside the store that said: No Financial Documents Needed. There was no disclaimer whatsoever, except for one that said you can get a free phone in 6 months if you've been a good subscriber. What does it take to get a line? Must I submit a last will & testament, report card, community tax certificate, passport, time deposit certificates, or pay slips in the last 8 years? I feel chances of having a Smart line are even slimmer than the possibility of the sun, moon, and earth aligning for a total eclipse!
